The use of pitched stone (cobbles) is one of the oldest track constructions known and can certainly be traced back to Roman times. DMS offer pitched stone surface for some tracks and paths and can either install specifically cropped stone or selected natural stone which can then be pitched into earth or concrete. The choice is largely dictated by the usage and wear that the surface is likely to be exposed to. Even where pitched into concrete, the surface and outward appearance of the track can be disguised leaving no clue of the concrete substrate.
