Walls Gates & Stiles

The rebuilt wall in the foreground is in exactly the same style as the one behind, and should last as long.

Walls

The building and rebuilding of walls is an important component of the DMS portfolio, although not generally a project in its own right. DMS takes great pride in the way that it can replicate the local walling style and use of material – building a wall that looks every bit a part of the local landscape. Details such as the pattern of through stones, and of top stones is important to get right to exactly replicate the other walls in the area.

Gateways

The design and build of gateways can be very individual to an area and part of local tradition going back several hundred years. Preserving the traditional local appearance of gateways is important. DMS goes to painstaking lengths to ensure that gateways are built to suit the locality, ideally using suitable local source of stone or slate for the posts. DMS provide traditional gateways, bridle gates, and kissing gates as required within the scope of wider projects.

Stiles

As foot access to remote areas is becoming more wide spread, the requirement for crossing points increases. DMS provide a variety of stiles to cross fences and walls, including timber stiles, ladder stiles, step over stiles in stone walls, and step through stiles in stone walls.
