We’ve had an excellent year delivering peatland restoration across multiple sites in Cumbria and the Yorkshire Dales, using a variety of effective techniques. Our efforts have focused on restoring bare peat areas, including planting over a quarter of a million plug plants to support long-term regeneration and ecological resilience.
A major part of our work involved large-scale cell bunding, which helps create wetter conditions on the moorland. This is especially important during increasingly frequent dry spells, as it supports insect life for longer periods and promotes greater biodiversity across the landscape.
Our dedicated team has worked incredibly hard throughout the year, completing high-quality work despite tight deadlines and challenging weather conditions.
We’ve thoroughly enjoyed collaborating with the Yorkshire Peat Partnership and the North Pennines National Landscape Team, and we extend our sincere thanks to everyone involved in making this year’s restoration efforts a success.
